Regular, weekly classes are held throughout the year at three locations in London, Neal’s Yard Meeting Rooms, Covent Garden, The City Lit, Covent Garden and Sutton College with occasional classes at La Caseta Flamenca , Streatham.


Private classes are also available for individuals and small groups. These can be in a hired studio or in the company's purpose-built studio in South London.

Spring 2018


La Caseta Flamenca, Streatham

Elementary / Intermediate level TIENTOS workshops

Sundays 10:30am to 12noon.

14 January, 4 February + 11 March 2018.
for 1 x 90mins workshop, £20 for 2, £28 for all 3 sessions.

These workshops will cover technique, rhythm, co-ordination, use of hat (‘sombrero cordobés’) and a short choreography in Tientos style. Hats will be available to borrow or buy, and a maximum of 6 participants means that each students will receive plenty of individual attention & feedback.




SEVILLANAS Recap classes
Sunday 11 March, 12.15pm to 1.45pm.
Saturday 17 March, 4pm to 5.30 pm.
£15 each.

For anyone who would like to revise Sevillanas: beginners will consolidate the steps and patterns, Improvers will develop partnering skills and coordination of feet / arms / wrists, while more experienced dancers will practise all four verses + ‘1a copla en circulo’ with a variety of partners at a variety of speeds, castanets optional.

Flamenco Singing classes: ‘Cante por Fandangos de Huelva’
Wednesdays 7th and 21st March, 8pm to 9.30pm.
£15 each (including guitarist).

‘En flamenco, el cante manda’ …’In flamenco, the singing rules’.
Whether you’re a student of flamenco dance or guitar, learning to sing will...

  • enhance your primary flamenco interest.

  • aid your understanding of the lyrics, which will give more feeling & expression to your dancing & playing.

  • help you develop & secure your sense of rhythm.

  • help you understand of the connections between cante, toque, palmas y baile (song, guitar, clapping & dance).

  • allow you experience the authentic pulsating heart of flamenco!

The palo studied will be Fandangos de Huelva, a traditional and versatile flamenco form.

( NB.: If you are a current Flamenco Con Gusto beginner dance student, you will recognise that this song accompanies the choreography that you have been learning this term and last term).

Neal’s Yard Meeting Rooms, Covent Garden

General Level Flamenco Dance
Thursdays 6.00pm to 7.45pm.
Easter Break: No classes from 29 March to 19 April – Classes START up again Thursday 26 April 2018.


Beginners are welcome to these friendly and dynamic ‘open’ classes (suitable for men and women, young and old) as well as Elementary level students with up to three years' Flamenco Dance experience who will be challenged in speed, style, technique and solo performance. Basic technique and co-ordination exercises (including castanets) lead on to weekly Sevillanas practise followed by ‘flamenco puro’ Fandangos de Huelva.

£14 per drop-in class. Reduced price for advance payment per calendar month.

The City Lit, Covent Garden


Regular weekly Thursday classes, progressing throughout the year:

Spring Term: 12 April to 28 June 2018 ( 12 classes ).

These fun, friendly, rigorous and dynamic classes include regular live guitar accompaniment and a wide variety of recorded flamenco music & song. Students have the opportunity to video section of the class so as to facilitate home practise.


Flamenco: beginners
10.30am to 12.00noon. £179 (concessions available, see college website). Course Code DDB052.


In this fun and dynamic course you will learn fundamental flamenco dance moves, steps and rhythms in an energising and supportive atmosphere, progressing from 'Absolute Beginners' in Term 1 through 'Beginners' in Term 2 to 'Fast Beginners' in Term 3. Experience the rich complexity of this Andalucian Gypsy art form and develop presence, fitness and co-ordination. A Fandangos de Huelva con abanico/sombrero (with fan/hat) choreography will be taught.

Flamenco: improvers

12.15pm to 1.45pm. £179 (concessions available, see college website). Course Code DDM052.

A friendly, intensive class, suitable for Improvers and Elementary level students, that covers fundamental steps, style, rhythms and choreography, and focuses on the confident execution of flamenco dance with pleasure, passion and panache. Performance opportunities throughout the year.  You will need to have danced flamenco for at least a year and have completed our beginner's classes or equivalent. Each class includes a recap of Sevillanas, and, throughout the term, a section of a routine por Alegrías will be taught.



Flamenco: rhythm & speed
Wednesday 11 July to Friday 13 July. 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Course Code DS055.

As the first of three separate but complementary summer courses focusing on the ‘palo’ (the flamenco form’) ‘Seguirillas’ - including live guitar accompaniment - this course will focus on rhythmic footwork, ‘pitos’ (finger clicks), palmas (clapping) and use of ‘bastón’ (walking stick). This course leads to an opportunity to perform on the evening of Friday 3 August (see ‘Events ‘ page for more info) and is suitable for absolute beginners as well as students with up to 3 years’ experience.

Flamenco: style & grace
Wednesday 18 July to Friday 20 July. 10.15am to 12.15pm. Course Code DS056.

This course will focus on posture, angle of body, and coordination of wrists & arms – the elements that combine to create the archetypal Flamenco style & moves. This course leads to an opportunity to perform on the evening of Friday 3 August (see ‘Events‘ page for more info) and is suitable for absolute beginners as well as students with up to 3 years’ experience.

Flamenco: power & performance
Wednesday 25 July to Friday 27 July. 10.15am to 12.15pm. Course Code DS140.

This course will include a short dance sequence ‘por Seguirillas’ with particular focus on developing style, presence and stage persona, enabling dancers to portray the attitude of Flamenco with authenticity and commitment. This course – which includes live guitar accompaniment - leads to an opportunity to perform on the evening of Friday 3 August (see ‘Events‘ page for more info) and is suitable for students with between 1 and 5 years’ flamenco dance experience.

As part of Spanish Weekend at The City Lit:

Flamenco: sing, dance, perform!
Sunday 5th August 2018. 10:30am to 4.30pm (5hr course). Price and course code TBC.

This short intensive course is open to absolute beginners as well as students of flamenco with up to 5 years’  experience and includes live guitar accompaniment. Participants will learn to:-

  • sing a short Flamenco song in Spanish (with translation and Spanish language coaching).

  • clap in rhythm.

  • call out jaleos, the typical flamenco calls of encouragement.

  • dance, embodying typical flamenco posture, steps and style.

  • combine all the above elements to produce a mini-performance at the end of the day.

Sutton College

Flamenco Dancing – All Abilities

Spring Term 2018: Fridays 4 May to 29 June + Wednesday 4 July.

HALF TERM BREAK Fridays 1st + 8th June (8 classes over 10 weeks).

7.30pm to 9.00pm. Price & course code TBC.


Enjoy a dynamic, thorough and fun-filled flamenco dance course, learning and consolidating the basic style, steps and moves. Each session will include warm-up, some basic footwork and co-ordination exercises, and learning a short dance routine in authentic flamenco style. There will be many performance opportunities throughout the year; this friendly and supportive course, taught in English and in Spanish, is open to men, women, young and old – Absolute Beginners are welcome, as well as those with several years' experience of dancing flamenco. A ‘Fandangos de Huelva con abanico / sombrero’ choreography will be taught: women will dance using a fan while men will dance using a hat (fans and hats will be supplied by the tutor for students to borrow or buy).

1:1 private class: £45 per hour / £55 per 90mins + studio fee. N.B. free studio available in Streatham Vale, south London with sprung floor and mirrors.

Small private groups also welcome, fee to be negotiated depending on number of participants, live guitar accompaniment etc.
