Classes

Regular, weekly classes are held throughout the year at three locations in London, Neal’s Yard Meeting Rooms, Covent Garden, The City Lit, Covent Garden and Sutton College.

 

Private classes are also available for individuals and small groups. These can be in a hired studio or in the company's purpose-built studio in South London.

Neal’s Yard Meeting Rooms, Covent Garden

General Level Flamenco Dance
Thursdays 6.00pm to 7.45pm.
EASTER Break: No classes on 18th and 25th April – Classes START up again Thursday 2 May 2019.

 

Beginners are welcome to these friendly and dynamic ‘open’ classes (suitable for men and women, young and old) as well as Elementary level students with up to three years' Flamenco Dance experience who will be challenged in speed, style, technique and solo performance. ‘flamenco puro’ Bulerías de Jerez
 

£15 per drop-in class. Reduced price for advance payment per calendar month.

The City Lit, Covent Garden

 

Regular weekly Thursday classes, progressing throughout the year:

Summer Term: 2 May to 4 July 2019.
 

These fun, friendly, rigorous and dynamic classes include regular live guitar accompaniment and a wide variety of recorded flamenco music & song. Students have the opportunity to video section of the class so as to facilitate home practise.

 

Flamenco: beginners
10.15am to 11.45am. £159 (concessions available, see college website). Course Code DDB052.

 

In this fun and dynamic course you will learn fundamental flamenco dance moves, steps and rhythms in an energising and supportive atmosphere, progressing from 'Absolute Beginners' in Term 1 through 'Beginners' in Term 2 to 'Fast Beginners' in Term 3. Experience the rich complexity of this Andalucian Gypsy art form and develop presence, fitness and co-ordination. A choreography por Farruca con sombrero will be taught.
 

Flamenco: improvers

12.00pm to 1.30pm. £159 (concessions available, see college website). Course Code DDM052.


A friendly, intensive course, suitable for Improvers and Elementary level students, that covers development of technique (footwork combinations, turns, arm & wrist co-ordination etc.) as well as a variety of Bulerias steps & routines. There will be performance opportunities throughout the year, and you will need to have danced flamenco for at least a year and have completed our beginner's classes or equivalent. Several short por Bulerías de Jerez sequences will be taught, leading to improvisation in authentic Flamenco style.

 

Flamenco: intermediate

13.45pm to 3.00pm. £119 (concessions available, see college website). Course Code DDM055.

This upbeat intensive course is suitable for students who’ve completed at least 2 years of regular flamenco dance classes The course focuses on the confident and stylish execution of flamenco technique and dance routines at Intermediate level. A choreography por Soleá will be taught.

Sutton College

Flamenco Dancing – All Abilities

Enjoy a dynamic, thorough and fun-filled flamenco dance course, learning and consolidating authentic flamenco dance style, steps and moves. This friendly and supportive course, taught in English and in Spanish, is open to men, women, young and old – Absolute Beginners are welcome, as well as those with several years' experience of dancing flamenco. Each session will include warm-up, a variety of footwork, turns and co-ordination exercises, a recap of Sevillanas for the more experienced students, and several short por Bulerías de Jerez sequences will be taught, for everyone to learn, leading to improvisation in authentic Flamenco style. There will be many performance opportunities throughout the year.

Private classes

1:1 private class: £45 per hour / £55 per 90mins + studio fee. N.B. free studio available in Streatham Vale, south London with sprung floor and mirrors.

Small private groups also welcome, fee to be negotiated depending on number of participants, live guitar accompaniment etc.
